About
What is a DTF transfer sheet?
It is a print on a special film, backed with adhesive powder, that you iron onto fabric yourself.
We print your artwork onto the film and send you the sheet. After that, all you need is a household iron and whatever you want to decorate — a T-shirt, a tote bag, an apron, a cap. Because no screen or plate is needed, full-colour illustrations and photographs are practical even for a single piece.
One sheet minimum
There is no plate charge, so a single sheet is a perfectly normal order. Useful for small events, or simply to try something out first.
Use it on your own things
Apply it to your own T-shirts, bags or uniforms whenever it suits you. A heat press is not required — a household iron is enough.

Data
Preparing your file
If you send us an A3-size image, we can print the sheet from it directly.
SizeCreate the artwork at A3 (297 x 420mm). We print at actual size.
Resolution350dpi at actual size is recommended (150dpi minimum)
File formatPNG (transparent background), PDF, AI (Illustrator) or PSD
BackgroundAnything you do not want printed must be transparent. A white background will be printed as a white rectangle.
Colour modeCMYK recommended. RGB files may shift slightly in colour when printed.
TextFor Illustrator files, please convert text to outlines.
Watch out for thin lines and small text
Lines under about 1mm and very small text can break up or lift during transfer. Drawing them a little heavier gives a cleaner result.
Leave space between designs
If you are placing several designs on one sheet, about 10mm between them makes them much easier to cut out.
Ask us if preparing the file is difficult
We can also build the artwork from a hand-drawn illustration or an image that is not the right size (design work is quoted separately). Just send us what you have.
About gradients and soft fades
The transfer film is cut to follow the outline of your design. For that reason, we cannot reproduce a fade that dissolves gradually into the fabric, or any semi-transparent areas.
If you would like a softer finish that blends into the garment, we may be able to convert the gradient into a halftone dot pattern, which can give the impression of a fade.
This has to be adjusted for each design, so a separate data-processing fee applies.

We look at your artwork first, then send a quote that includes shipping. Nothing is produced until you have accepted it.

Send us your artwork
After submitting the form, send the file via GigaFile (free, no sign-up) or by email to info@sasimaya.com. You are also welcome to bring it to the shop on a USB drive.
Please do not send artwork over LINE — images are compressed automatically, losing resolution and the transparent background.
We send a quote
We check the file and reply within three business days with a total that includes shipping. If there is a problem with the artwork, we will raise it at this point.
You accept, we produce
Production starts once you reply to accept the quote. It normally takes three to five business days from that point.
Delivery or collection
We either send the sheet by courier or hold it for collection at the shop. When it arrives, follow the transfer steps below.
How to
Applying the sheet with an iron
The sheet can be applied with an ordinary household iron. These instructions are included with your order.
What you need: the printed DTF sheet / an iron (ideally without using steam) / a pressing cloth (baking paper or a thin cloth) / scissors / heat-resistant tape / the fabric you are printing on (cotton, polyester and similar)
Check the care label on the fabric before you start.
Prepare the surface
Lay the fabric on a flat, firm surface. Remove creases and dust, and smooth it with the iron for a few seconds.
Cut out the design
Cut around the design with scissors, leaving as little margin as possible.
Position and fix it
Place the design where you want it and hold it in place with heat-resistant tape. Taping it down makes a noticeable difference to the finish.
Cover with a pressing cloth
Lay baking paper or a thin cloth over the sheet. Do not apply the iron directly.
Press (first pass)
Set the iron to about 150°C. Do not slide it — press straight down with your body weight for 15 to 20 seconds.
Let it cool, then peel
Wait 30 to 60 seconds, then peel the film away slowly at a shallow upward angle. Do not peel while it is hot.
Press again (second pass)
Replace the pressing cloth and press once more for 10 to 15 seconds. This improves adhesion and how well it survives washing.
Cool completely
Once it has cooled fully, it is done. Do not wash it for 24 hours.
Tips for a clean finishWork on dry fabric, laid completely flat / keep the iron at a medium heat (about 150°C) and press evenly / always use a pressing cloth to avoid scorching and shine / press right to the edges / let it cool properly before peeling
Please noteDo not use steam — it makes the print lift / too much heat damages both the fabric and the transfer / irons vary, so test on an inconspicuous area first / adhesive and ink can end up on the soleplate, so wipe it with a spare cloth afterwards.
Fabrics we recommendCotton, polyester and cotton-polyester blends with a relatively flat surface
Fabrics to be careful withWater-repellent finishes, nylon, mesh and heavily textured fabrics. Specially treated or water-repellent surfaces may not bond well.
WashingTurn the garment inside out / use a laundry net / use a mild detergent / avoid tumble drying / never iron directly onto the print
Temperature and timing vary with the iron and the fabric. We recommend testing on an inconspicuous area first.
